The waiting game

The reason for the blog silence was that we were playing the waiting game. Waiting for the neighbours to sign on to the idea of doing a joint planning application. Without them, we couldn't extend and add the much needed space to the house.

After a few tense meetings, they came around to the idea, embraced it and are now almost more gung ho than us! Almost...

The next step was meeting with the Architect, talking through our ideas, what might work and what dreams needed to be shattered.

So we waited some more, waited for the architect to chat about the plans, waited for them to come back and take measurements and now we are waiting for the drawings. When you know you have to wait 8 weeks for the planning permission to come through, it's a little frustrating waiting for everything else.

So in the meantime, what we couldn't wait for was to get started with the destruction!

Remember this?

Well this is now what it looks like...

We also decided to see what we could get for some of the items in the house, so the cooker? SOLD! The shed? SOLD!

Selling the shed also gave us the opportunity to see the original rotting shed sitting behind the metal one as well as sizing up the garden. It's not a bad size actually! See for yourself...

Before:

And after...

So while we wait for the plans... more destruction to follow... how fun!
